Spending quality time with my littles is super important to me. I think about it all the time and remind myself to continue to make it happen even if it isnāt hours upon hours at a time. We really enjoy going on family mini trips, hikes, museum adventuresāāletās go do something funā we say. The reality is: we canāt do that all the time and COVID has changed how our family time is spent a lot, I would say in lots of good ways! Also with life happenings, school, and 4 sports schedules currently going on in our house (yes both of our boys are EACH playing baseball AND soccer at the same time haha!) weāve had to get even more creative during our precious time with our minis.
Something that Iāve always done is: include them in what Iām already doing/love to do. Of course I really like getting to join them in what theyāre doing but Iāve found that they usually really like doing what I do, too. When I create + paint they pull up paper/canvas and paints, when I cookāthey want to add the ingredients, when I bake they like to use the mixer and do all the tastingāDUH. Same goes with gardening. I am a plant lady, obsessed, gardening like my mama taught me to the max. So of the dearest childhood memories I have of my mom and I are when she first taught me how to plant new beautiful flowers into her own gorgeous vibrant garden. I have always LOVED plants + gardening and my boys love both too.
Hereās a look at the project our little man X and I recently took on: planting spring + summer flowers into our outdoor vintage tub planter.
TO DO:
ā¼ Pull out all those weeds with care not to pull the flowers too.
ā¼ Add some fresh potting soil for nutrients.
ā¼ Plant your plant babies
ā¼ Water your new garden/planter additions.
Pull those weeds X. Donāt worry, I helped haha!
Add that soil! He had fun throwing in the dirt.
Time to plant these babies! My TĆo gifted me these beautiful flowering plants when we visited my home town a few weeks ago. It makes it extra special for us to plant them in our garden and it reminds us of him every time we look at them. Gracias TĆo! š§”
Give me ALLLLL the water, please. The pink lady to the right of our yellow darling looks to be struggling. We planted her anyway and weāre hoping she makes a turn around and blooms her heart out!
Our work is done! We do this every year and it is such a quirky-cool and beautiful part of our garden. I canāt wait until this tub gets super filled and overgrown with an array of beautiful blossoms (hence us planting so many little babies in it).
Iāll add an updated growth photo here once itās all filled up so you can see. X was SUPER proud and today said āour tub and flowers look so pretty!ā with a huge dimpled smile on his faceāheart melted.
It was fun hanging with you. If you you end up doing some planting with your kiddos over this beautiful motherās day weekendāor anytime soon, tag us at #allkidsaregifted so we can see! Also, if you want to look back on this post later on, be sure to pin it so you can come back to it whenever! We love our Pinterest fam. Have fun with your floral beauties and your minis!
